Terms of Service

$Membership access, acceptable use, intellectual property, and liability for The Art of GTM.

Effective 11 September 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Service govern access to The Art of GTM (https://artofgtm.com), a paid go-to-market publication operated by Studio Self / JA Westenberg. By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or using the site, you agree to these terms.

Questions: joan@thisisstudioself.com.

The service

We publish essays, a newsletter, and related membership features. Some content is free; member-only archive and newsletter access require an active paid membership or other entitlement we grant.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practicable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Sign-in may use email/password (when enabled) or Google or X (Twitter) OAuth.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or present security or legal risk.

Subscription and membership

Paid memberships are billed through Stripe according to the plan you select (for example monthly or annual). Prices and plan details are shown at checkout and on the pricing page.

Membership grants personal, non-transferable access to subscriber content for the paid period. Unless stated otherwise at purchase, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel via the billing portal or by contacting us; cancellation stops future renewals and access continues through the end of the paid period unless we state otherwise.

Refunds are handled case-by-case at our discretion unless required by applicable law. Chargebacks or payment failure may result in loss of member access.

Acceptable use

You may use the site only for lawful purposes. You must not: scrape or bulk-download member content beyond ordinary personal reading; share login credentials or redistributed paid content; attempt to bypass paywalls, auth, or security controls; interfere with the service or other users; or use the site to send spam, malware, or abusive material.

We may remove content you submit (if any) and restrict access when we reasonably believe these rules were broken.

Intellectual property

Essays, branding, design, and other materials on The Art of GTM are owned by Studio Self / JA Westenberg or our licensors. Membership does not transfer ownership.

You may share brief quotations with attribution for personal or non-commercial commentary. You may not reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit substantial portions of the archive or newsletter without prior written permission.

Disclaimers

Content is for informational and educational purposes about go-to-market craft. It is not legal, financial, investment, or professional advice tailored to your situation. You use the service and rely on content at your own risk.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studio Self, JA Westenberg, and their contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the site or content.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for membership in the twelve months before the claim or (b) AUD 100, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Australia have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder still applies. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms of Service. The effective date above will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
